Spring Wreath

Hello everyone, I hope the weather is a bit more spring like with you than it is here!

Today I am sharing a step by step on how I made my spring wreath I hope you like it.

Materials Used:
polystyrene flat backed wreath (I bought from hobbycraft but they are cheaper online)
Lots if small pins and 9 large decorative pins
Stampin Up Cardstock in More Mustard, So Saffron and Lucky Limeade
Stampin Up patterned paper in First Edition Speciality
Stampin Up  Ribbon Taffeta in So Saffron
Stampin Up Ruffled ribbon in Lucky Limeade
Stampin Up stamp sets Build a Blossom and Mixed Bunch
Stampin Up Punches Blossom Petals Builder and Blossom

How to:

Firstly I stamped the petals in So So Saffron ink onto So Saffron cardstock. Five petals are needed for each daffodil.

I used the Blossom Petals Builder punch to punch these out.

I then stamped three flowers from the Mixed Bunch stamp set onto More Mustard Cardstock using So Saffron ink and punched out with the Blossom punch.  I made small cuts towards the centre of the bloom to enable the petals to be curled.

Next step is to assemble the flowers, I used wet glue but you could you whatever glue you prefer as long as its strong.

I then moved onto the wreath base.  To cover the base I cut the patterned paper into 6" long strips, I cut so that the text on the strips is going in both directions as you can see.

This is the most time consuming part of the whole wreath but i think gives a great effect.
You can then attach your daffodils and I added strips of Lucky Limeade cardstock to give the effect of daffodil leaves.

To finish off I wound two different ribbons around the wreath and added a hanging loop.

The Finished article!

I am really pleased with it.

Retro Sketches Challenge #54

Hi Everyone

I have used this week's sketch over at Retrosketches to make two quick and simple cards (have to get them in the post today, last minute as always!)

I used Stamps by Unity for this new home card, the set is called 'Honey I'm Home' and is a Unity Bella BLVD set.

For this 60th Birthday card I used the same frame stamp as before and teamed it up with Quinn's 123 by Lawn fawn.

Thanks for visiting

Unity {be Inspired} Challenge (Layout)

Hi again,
two post in one day is pretty unheard of for me, in fact two posts in one month is usually good going but I'm back with a second entry to the Unity {be inspired} Challenge

This time it is for the scrapbook layout sketch

I rotated the sketch as my photo was landscape.  this is a really old photo the little chunk in the picture turned 8 yesterday!

I used stamps from a couple of unity KOTM and SMAK kits, the papers used are Lawn Fawn.

Thank you for popping in
