MiniOwner's December Challenge - '95'

Hi, back again!

This layout is using the sketch over on Sue's Blog it is also for this week's challenge over on UK Scrappers which had three criteria:

  • use the sketch provided
  • scrap a mother
  • use numbers

so here is mine:

This photo is from my Gran's 95th birthday party in May, her with her grandchildren (my brother and me) and her five great grandchildren.  It's not often you catch them all in one place and looking presentable so is a special picture.

I made 'flowers' using a circle punch and they have ended up very dimensional so not sure how I'll persuade it into my album.

papers were from an old scrap kit and are by Pepples, just loved the birds so much I couldn't bring myself to cut it :)

An Autumn Walk - Mini Album

 Hi everyone

This mini I made to enter the monthly house challenge over on UK Scrappers.  I mostly seem to be scrapping photos from last year at the moment.

The album is made from two C5 manilla envelopes and the papers used are from Cosmo Cricket S'more Love 8" paper stack.  This was a picture inspiration chalenge you can see the picture here

The album included a pull out that is shown in the next two pictures.

The next photo shows the back cover

December Documented an early start

Hi everyone

Yes rather early but I have made a start on my December/Christmas album.  I am not planning on doing a December Daily album its going to be less structured than that, just somewhere to put all the photos and memorabilia of the season in one place.

The album is a 6" by 8" Sn@p album with divided page protectors that I can move around to accommodate my needs.  The cover is decorated using the December kit by SODAlicious this is a great kit, load of goodies that I can use in the album too.  I have fallen in love with Polish scrapbooking companies recently and personally I love the idea of using products that come from a less main stream source.

My album actually has its first item in it too, well why not?  Its my album :)

I cut some of the patterned paper in the kit to fit the pockets and used a bit of washi tape some alpha stickers and there we go.  Much of my album will be like this, quick and simple.

If you are interested in doing a December journal/scrapbook there are loads of classes, here are a couple I am signed up to, I will be picking and choosing what I use from them so they stay as inspiration rather than pressure!

Let's Jump - Mini Album

Hi Everyone

I have a mini album to share today.  These photos were taken at the start of summer 2012 and I had been trying to work out a way to use them for a while but there were just too many for a layout so this mini book was born.

The design was inspired by some albums I saw on youtube but it is not a direct copy rather a mix-up of a few I have seen.  The base of the album is two C5 manila envelopes and I used a couple of file folders for kraft card stock.  The coloured card is Stampin' up pool party and the patterned papers are Basic Grey.

The front page opens up for a double page.  I have cut out elements from the patterned paper to use as embellishments as I wanted to keep the pages nice and flat.

Below is the largest double page in the centre of the mini, I trimmed down the photos so I could fit four on.

This photo shows the back page of the mini album, I plan to journal here but have not done so yet.

The envelope that forms the back cover was left unsealed to form a pocket.  The two photos below show the page that slides in the pocket.

I hope you like my album,

Wobble!

Hi there,

Just a quick post to share a layout I did last weekend.  It is the first I have done using a kit by Niki at Being Scrappy.  Pop over and have a look as the kits are packed full of goodies.

Heather had a very wobbly tooth and decided to show it off so I thought I would scrap it :)

Have I got scrap for you October Challenge

Hi All

Another quick post sharing a layout for a UKS Challenge.  Niki Rowland of Being Scrappy set a challenge to use homemade embellishments.  I created some little embellishments using parts of the patterned papers I was using.  Niki also provided a sketch which I really enjoyed working with.

The papers used are all American Crafts Dear Lizzy Neapolitan range, I bought this paper pad in TK Maxx recently as I thought it was so pretty, I then got home and discovered I already had it - whoops!

Project Life/ Life in a box

hello

Well I have taken the plunge and started project life.
Actually I have started a digi version using templates from Weeds and Wildflowers design called Life in a box.  It works with photoshop and is easy to use, I managed so it must be!

This is my first layout.  What I like about project life is that it helps capture things you would not scrap a layout of normally for example the screams that have accompanied my smallest being poorly this week.

I have decided to use this size templates instead of 12" by 12" as I thought I might print it out at a later date.

Sunshine and Happiness

Hi Everyone

I had a bit of crafty time today with my daughter, she made a layout and about 10 paintings of goodness knows what and I made this.

I followed the sketch over at Skissedilla

All the stamps I used are by Unity they are from a couple of their Simple Stories co-brand sets.  Some Unity stamps are available in the UK from Make the Day Special so always worth a look before buying direct

.

I followed the sketch quite closely and had a go at 'messy' scrapbooking with paints and distress stains.

Unity Be Inspired Challenge - Colour

Hello

I am here today to share my entry for the colour inspiration on the Unity Be Inspired Challenge

I have used the blues for the main colours on my layout and used splashes of the other colours.

I stamped the dress stamp repeatedly and coloured with spectrum noir pens.
The stamp is a recent stamp of the week club stamp and one of my favourites so far.

I used paper and trim from Websters pages and the blooms, pins and chipboard were from a swap I did a while ago.

I have intentions of turning Heather's new party dress into a cushion when she grows out of it as it is so pretty!
